process

Step 1: The Concept

The first contact is made with you, the client, where we discuss the scope of the project. A creative design questionnaire is given to you to complete so that we can clearly define the goals and requrirements of the project before moving on to the fun stuff. This is the most important part of the project as it will map out the foundation of your project so please feel free to ask as many questions as you want.

Step 2: Research

Once the Creative Design Brief has been completed and I have a clear concept of the project I then start researching your businesses needs and goals, target audience and demographic so that I can create an idea of the intended style of your website.

Step 3: Blueprints

In this step I create blueprints or website wireframes as the design community calls them for review and approval before the design process begins. It is an important step in determining the placement of content, function and navigation.

A website wireframe' (also "web wire frame", "web wireframe", "web wireframing") is a basic visual guide used in interface design to suggest the structure of a website and relationships between its pages. A webpage wireframe is a similar illustration of the layout of fundamental elements in the interface. Typically, wireframes are completed before any artwork is developed. Read more

Step 4: Design

Once approval has been received for the design wireframes we move onto the design phase where the design wireframes are perfected. They are then presented for feedback and approval.

Step 5: Implementation

I then build the design into working web page prototypes using HTML, CSS and JavaScript (and of course its is all according to accessbility guidelines just like this website).

Step 6: Testing

This step involves a complete usability test across all platforms and browsers, checking for cross-platform functionality and of course the appearance of the website as a whole.

Step 7: Launch!!!

Now we are ready to launch!

Step 8: Monitoring and Maintenance

Once we've launched the website I will do a thorough link check to make sure that all the links are working just as they should. I will then continue to monitor the site for 5 days to make sure that any potential problems that may arise are looked after straigh away. Once the 5 days of monitoring are over then we can set up a maintenance plan if you wish.
